ProStyk is a companion app for field technicians and inspectors. It pairs with a GoPro to show a live preview, capture photos or video with a single tap, and save every capture straight to the phone automatically.
We delivered the complete product: product discovery, UI/UX design, native iOS and Android apps, GoPro integration, subscriptions and activation-code licensing, a web admin panel, QA and store preparation.
Inspections often happen in places that are hard to see and hard to reach — under vehicles, inside machinery, behind panels or up high. A GoPro is small and tough enough for these spaces, but it was never designed as an inspection tool.
On its own, a GoPro means framing shots blind, pressing small buttons and transferring files from the SD card later. Photos end up scattered, delayed or lost. Technicians also work outdoors in bright light, often wearing gloves, and need controls they can see and use quickly.
The business model added its own challenge: selling to individual professionals through app store subscriptions and to companies buying licences in bulk, while making sure only paying or authorised customers could use the app. The vision was a simple, rugged-feeling companion app — connect, see, capture and save in seconds — backed by an access system that works for both.
We approached ProStyk as a hardware-connected field product where reliability, speed and secure access were central to the experience.
Inspection workflows and the access model mapped into a Functionality Document and a User Flow Document covering every journey.
Dark-first and high-contrast, with glove-friendly tap targets, light and dark themes and a click-through prototype.
Discovery, pairing and control over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, with live preview, capture, lens presets and SD card transfer.
iOS and Android built natively for reliable connectivity, smooth preview and dependable background transfer.
A separate web app for the ProStyk team to manage users, companies, licences and activation codes.
Tested end to end, including permission, connection-failure and expiry paths, and prepared for both stores.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections can be unpredictable, and a failed connection in the field stops an inspection in its tracks.
A clear connection flow with permissions up front, a device list showing model, signal and battery, and dedicated states for every outcome — each failure offering a next step such as Scan Again, Pairing Help or Choose Another Camera.
GoPro media sits on the camera’s SD card, and manual transfers are slow and easy to forget.
Auto Save to Gallery moves each capture to the phone and into a ProStyk album, with a manual Send to Phone fallback and an optional Auto Delete to keep camera storage clear.
Bright outdoor light and gloved hands make small, low-contrast controls hard to use.
A dark-first, high-contrast interface with large tap targets, a big shutter button, separate lens and mode buttons, and a minimal overlay that keeps the live preview clear.
Individuals want to try and subscribe in the app, while companies buy licences in bulk — both needing secure access without code sharing.
Four entry points: a 30-day free trial, store subscriptions, activation codes and sign in. Each code is tied to one account, valid for a year and revocable.
Subscription apps must meet strict Apple and Google rules on billing, disclosures and account deletion.
Store-managed billing with no card details collected in-app, auto-renewal disclosures with Terms and Privacy links, Restore Purchase, and in-app account deletion with a typed confirmation.
Both apps were built natively for fast performance, stable device connectivity and a platform-consistent interface.
Discovery, pairing and control power the live preview, capture, digital-zoom lens presets and camera status, after a dedicated permissions step for Bluetooth and local network access.
Photos and videos move from the camera over Wi-Fi into a ProStyk album on the device, with optional deletion from the camera afterwards.
Store billing handles auto-renewable monthly and annual plans, the free trial and Restore Purchase, with no card details collected in-app.
Activation codes are validated, bound to one account, time-limited to one year and revocable from the admin panel.
Users, active subscriptions, MRR, trials ending and companies at a glance, plus batch activation-code generation with status tracking.
As the development partner, our agency transformed the product concept into complete native mobile apps and the web admin panel behind them.
A focused inspection platform that turns a standard GoPro into a smart, phone-controlled inspection camera — connect, see a live view, capture and have everything saved to the phone automatically, through an interface built for gloves and bright outdoor light.
Behind the app, ProStyk now has a complete commercial model: individuals start a free trial and subscribe through the app stores, while companies buy licences and hand out activation codes, all managed from a single web admin panel. The product was built with a clear path to grow, with project-based organisation — named projects, dates and timelines — planned for a later phase.
